New Year's Resolutions |
 |

TDS has asked a few people their resolutions. Please find below what they say:
Roxanna Parker from Movefearlessly Designs::
My resolution for the year is to try to relax more - I'm very Type-A, so sometimes I let myself get stressed over things that really aren't that important!
Kirstie Ibrahim {gallery}::
This year my word is Strength. I think it suits many aspects of my life from physical strength, patience, will, courage, effort, discipline and self control.
I don’t have any resolutions, I never make them! I rather go with the “one word” than make up a list of things “I won’t” or “I will” because I’d never stick to it.
Karen Maggie {ScrapbookGraphics & TDS Team}::
I'm being easy on myself this year by not creating unrealistic resolutions. It may go against conventional wisdom about setting specific goals within a specific time-frame, however, I know from experience that if you set New Years Resolutions too strictly, you may set yourself up for failure and give up. So, my New Years Resolutions for 2009 are:
Resolution #1 is...Continue my weight loss journey until I reach my goal weight and learn what it takes to maintain it.
Not...Lose 20 pounds by March 31st.
Resolution #2: Complete a Project 365 Challenge by taking a Photo per day and scrapping a monthly summary two-page spread.
Not...Take a photo per day and post them to my blog, Flickr and 3 galleries, scrap a weekly summary page and a monthly summary spread for a photo book. Yikes!
Resolution #3...Walk my dog more often
Not...Walk the dog 2 times per day for one mile.
Leda Perry {gallery}::
I don't make them. After renting for 5 years, I'm just planning to enjoy 2009 in our new home! We are having fun painting and making it "ours."

It’s hard to believe that 2008 is over… and we are already starting a brand new year! Each year I resolve to better myself and declare my New Years resolutions in written form and announce them to my family. In January of 2008, I declared that one of my resolutions was to get healthier, and am I am pleased to announce that I have been successful! I have created the habit of going to the gym 4-5 days a week and I have changed my diet, thus far losing 17 pounds and counting.
This year, some of my resolutions are:
• Project 365 - take a photo a day for the entire year. I have seen this idea floating around in forums and on blogs lately and decided that this could be something I can actually complete! I love taking photos and exploring new ways to use my camera. I am also very interested in recording my family’s history, even the very mundane everyday parts of life, so this is going to be fun for me. You can see my results so far on my new blog (http://joys365project.wordpress.com).
• Get organized - I purchased a wonderful book, “Get Organized Now” by Jennifer Ford Berry. This book outlines weekly plans and starts off with organizing your mind, which I need so badly! You can pick and choose which tasks you want to do first or just follow her easy plan. So far, so good!
• Make more homemade gifts - I am joining the masses and trying my hand at hybrid projects. One thing I have been doing for a few years is collecting things I would like to alter - books, containers, fabrics, etc. I am excited to start adding traditional scrapbooking tools to my collection as I start my new hobby! I have fallen in love with altered Love books!!
• Better Journaling - this includes blogging more frequently, adding more journaling to my scrapbook pages, writing more articles, recording my thoughts as I read books and scriptures, sending more cards, and writing letters. My goal is to get my thoughts more organized, too. Also, some relationships are worth reviving, so I will be working on keeping more in touch with my friends.
• Scanning photos - I have thousand of photos to sort through and decide which memories I want to scrap. My plan is to scan the photos for making into layouts, and organize the remaining photos into a system I can use for safe storage. I know this will take a long time to complete, so I am not giving myself a deadline, just a push in the right direction.
The future generations of my family will be able to look through my collections of photos, thoughts, and books and will have a special glimpse into their past. These are my goals for the New Year and are my way of preserving today for all my great-great grandchildren!
