When immigrants brought their traditions to American, they modified them even more as they would dress in costume and go door to door asking for food or money. They were sometimes asked to do tricks or perform an act in exchange for their goodies, so the term "Trick-or-treat" was the newly established Halloween ritual.
Today we celebrate the Halloween season with fun and inviting costumes, parties, candles, decorations, candy and lots of tempting sweets! Halloween parties and haunted houses are all over our neighborhood each year, and it seems like one neighbor always tries to outdo everyone else with their decorations. Most Halloween parties will feature some type of spook alley, which is a small area of scary things for kids, such as monsters jumping out at them, and flashing lights, spooky music, and some boxes to crawl through.
