Let's be honest, sometimes the best gift for a certain friend or loved one is a gift card – it's the best way to make sure they will get a gift they really want! But, for crafty people like me, that can take away some of the joy of giving, because it's hard to make a gift card look pretty and personalized. That's why I love the idea of hybrid gift card holders! Here's how I made the one pictured below:

Besides your computer, color printer and photo paper, you will need a few other supplies to get started, which I've listed below.
Supplies:
Printable gift card holder or template
Scissors and adhesive
Optional:
Glitter glue
Ribbon or cord for handle
Physical Embellishments, like flowers, jewels, etc.
Instructions:
1. Print out a gift card holder template onto photo paper, when dry, cut it out.
2. Fold the cut-out image where indicated to create the purse shape.
3. Use adhesive to secure the side flaps in place.
4. Optional: Adhere a ribbon or cord on the inside edges of the cover to create a handle (this is great if you want to be able to hang the holder on a Christmas tree).
5. Optional: Decorate the front of the gift card holder with flowers, gems, beads and glitter glue!
This is a quick and easy project, which helps add a personal touch to a simple gift card! |
