Joan was born and raised in Quezon City, Philippines.  She and her husband just moved to the US in 2007, after living in Japan for five years.  She loves anything that involves tinkering - most especially crafts.  Scrapbooking was not interesting for Joan at first .  But when all the scrapbooking tools, supplies and products boomed a few years ago, she jumped in the band wagon, and is now hooked to the bone.  For Joan, scrapbooking is a surefire way to preserve all those special memories.  She doesn't care so much for brand names.  What's important is how the final layout looks, even with the use of scrap materials.

Aside from scrapbooking, she also likes to do cross-stitch, crochet, jewelry making, stained glass and ceramics.  Despite all these hobbies, she still finds time to sing (her first love), video edit, watch TV and cook.  The key word is "multi-tasking."  She spends most of her time in her craft room, which she calls her "planet."  And when she's out of the house, she likes to go bargain hunting on anything that's craft related.  "I love to recycle or repurpose things,"  Joan says.  "If I see something that could be useful in my craft room or for my hobby, I'll get it."  And it may be a wood crate, salad plastic container, or even a small sheet of metal.  "I just can't do one thing for a long time," she says.  "I get bored easily,"  which explains the many hobbies she has.  Joan's ultimate scrapbooking goal is to get published in the magazines.
