Mye aka Bubblescrap Designs popped into the TDS scene when she answered our call for a TDS Blimp project by Asian designers. One thing led to another and she was suddenly hired to write for TDS Lifestyle and I took this opportunity to invite her to TDS Studio. Check out her beautiful kit "Beauty in the Meadow" exclusive for TDS Studio and a brief interview with this talented young designer.
Q: What is the inspiration when creating this kit called ‘Beauty in the Meadow’ for TDS Studio?
Mye: I wanted to try something different, out of my usual style. Something grungy but colorful and rich. I got this palette for some time and it's as if it is just waiting for the perfect theme. I used it and created the papers. At first, I can't think of a kit name and so I brought it out to my Creative Bubbles for suggestions and Twilight was mentioned but then I don't want to incorporate the kit into the movie but it came out really close to the colors of Twilight's "New Moon" poster. My CT Mycau gave out the name "In the Meadow" which is quite close to the specific theme I was targeting - something related to the woods, thus, Beauty in the Meadow. After choosing the names, I worked on the accompanying elements and alpha. There you have it.
Q: How would you define your style of design at this moment?
Mye: My style is really more on traditional but I love using realistic elements and botanicals in my kits. I am still searching for the one style that would define me, as Bubblescrap Designs. It's taking quite a long time but I am getting there.
Q: Where do you live? Does it has an influence to your inspiration and type of kits that you produce?
Mye: I live in Manila, Philippines but it doesn't influence my inspiration nor my mood when working on my kits. I would rather say - I am limited to certain themes that other countries have and we don't like "Memorial Day", "St. Patrick's Day" and seasons like "Winter", "Autumn", "Fall" because we only have 2 seasons in the Philippines - rainy and summer.
Q: How long have you been designing? Why digital scrapbooking?
Mye: I started designing in August of 2009. I saw a friend creating layouts for her daughters and posting it in her blog. That inspiration drew me closer to making LOs, discovering digiscrapping sites and communities. I joined a local paper scrapbook community but I can't afford the expenses so I went back to digi and continued learning to design. I chose digital over paper because I am more comfortable with it and it's less expensive.

Q: Is designing your full time occupation?
Mye: No, I have a day job as an Infrastructure Lead for a solutions company. However, I do wish that the day will come when designing will become my full time occupation so I will have more time to spend with my kids.
Q: What was the most fulfilling and rewarding feeling you ever get about your designs?
Mye: Seeing layouts using my kits, especially layouts done by my customers. I do feel really happy when customers do respond to my Facebook posts or someone sends me an email to say they like the kit. It's priceles.
Q: Tell us a little about yourself and family.
Mye: I am 32 years old and working full time by day, and a scrapper con blogger at night. I love cake more than ice cream and despite my age, still loving spaghetti. I live a simple live but I do work hard to get the things I want. I am easy to please, friendly and I do cherish my friends so much. I am married for almost 5 years now to the man of my dreams (yeah, I prayed for him) and we have twin daughters namely, Scieszka Raine and Elysia Raine who are my inspiration.
