Rachael's designing career started just around the time when TDS was established and she has been a constant presence since then. So it is only natural that we invited her for this feature in TDS Studio. Find out more about Audrey, her creative inspiration and designs by reading our short interview below:
Q: What is the inspiration when creating this kit called ‘Mischief Maker’ for TDS Studio?
Rachael: I wanted to do another boys kit to scrap my sons pictures, but didn't want it to be bright and shiny. I choose to use an older grungy look that fits current boy pictures and those old ones you have scanned in too.
Q: How would you define your style of design at this moment?
Rachael: Eccentric? I'm usually all over the place, but I always try to use colors that pop out at you along with soft neutrals. I'm loving shabby and slightly grungy right now.
Q: Where do you live? Does it has an influence to your inspiration and type of kits that you produce?
Rachael: I live in whats call "the cove" in northern Alabama. We are surrounded by mountains and nature which does work it's way into my kits on occasion.
Q: How long have you been designing? Why digital scrapbooking?
Rachael: I have been designing 2 years this August. I had a party favor designing business which lead me to a few scrapping sites. i just kinda stuck around from there and within a month starting designing my own kits.
Q: Is designing your full time occupation?
Rachael: Yes it's my only real job. I chose to work from home several years ago so I could be there more for my son. Last year he was diagnosed with Aspergers Syndrome and helping him get the help he needs has really cut down on the time I spend working.
Q: What was the most fulfilling and rewarding feeling you ever get about your designs?
Rachael: Not sure if I have had any real big moment, but it's always a great moment when I see a customer's layout with my kits .
