Q: What is the inspiration when creating this kit called ‘Bbbzzz’ for TDS Studio?
chriscrap: I love bees (as long as they don't sting me) and i wanted to create a jazzy kit with fresh spring colors... a touch of love and a few bees, and that is how the kit idea was born.
Q: How would you define your style of design at this moment?
chriscrap: I often design kits around childhood themes, with bright colors and fun... that is my style now, that is what i love to create... In addition, recently, i work with Caroline Papadato, a French illustrator of great talent... our styles match well and we have done a few kits together.
Q: Where do you live? Does it has an influence to your inspiration and type of kits that you produce?
chriscrap: I live in Nice, south of France, by the sea... I love to scrap pictures of my kids at the beach so it ends up as a repeat theme for me.
Q: How long have you been designing? Why digital scrapbooking?
chriscrap: I started a couple of years ago a bit by accident. At first, I was only doing pages, then I purchased a graphic table, which I bring with me all the time, then I wanted to start creating. Amelie, the owner of Digital-Crea immediately gave me a chance.
Q: Is designing your full time occupation?
chriscrap: Right now, yes, mostly. I am on parental leave since the birth of my second child and designing takes a lot of time, in addition to my announcement site at La Cigogne Rose.
Q: What was the most fulfilling and rewarding feeling you ever get about your designs?
chriscrap: I like to see my style evolve, and my techniques improve... For my first CT call, i might have had 5 replies, while now, we are getting up to a hundred. It is very flattering to see that my kits still please scrappers, and that my customers are faithful, which always encourages me to do even better. Since a few months, I have had the chance to work with a talented illustrator, and it is a great motivation to create always new and original kits.
Q: Tell us a little about yourself and family.
chriscrap: I am 29 and have 2 wonderful boys. I am a librarian but since a few months, I am on parental leave and I love it! I dream of living exclusively from my passions.
