Q: What is the inspiration when creating this kit called ‘Embrace’ for TDS Studio?
Helly: I'm truly a romantic at heart, so when it came time to begin my kit for TDS, I knew that is what I wanted to do..a kit that represented the romance in my style of design.
Q: How would you define your style of design at this moment?
Helly: Romantic is the best way I can describe it...usually softly romantic, but sometimes with more of a grungy edge. I also love to put a vintage/heritage twist on most everything I create..that's why often you will find classical art mixed in with my elements or papers.
Q: Where do you live? Does it have an influence to your inspiration and type of kits that you produce?
Helly: I live in the southern United States and it most definitely has an effect on the the kits I design. Respect for history, an appreciation of the most basic things in life..the laid back feel of a Southern weekend..all of that shines through on many of my designs.
Q: How long have you been designing? Why digital scrapbooking?
Helly: About 2 years.... I started out designing forum graphics and eventually found and fell in love with digital scrapkits. I admire art of any kind and many designers out there are pure artists!
Q: Is designing your full time occupation?
Helly: Being a mother and a wife are my full time occupations..but designing is my only "paying" job. ;D
Q: What was the most fulfilling and rewarding feeling you ever get about your designs?
Helly: When someone takes a moment to email me to tell me how a certain kit has touched them..that means
a lot to me--to be able to create something that is going to make someone say "Hey, I get this..I know how she felt when she was creating it".
Q: Tell us a little about yourself and family.
Helly: I am a married mom of 2 kids, one boy(10) and one girl(12). I spend most of my time (when not with my family) creating or reading (I love urban fantasy type books... vampires, shifters etc) and a little time writing poetry. I watch very little TV, but when I do it's either Charmed or Supernatural reruns (oh how I love Sam and Dean ;D). I am sarcastically funny and a wee bit of a loon and I just do my best to just enjoy life. =)
