Elke, a talented designer going by the name FABA ScrapDesign has created a beautiful summer kit filled with wonderful things you can find in a garden. Her designs has a touch of realism and sweetness which you could easily use in all your layouts. Find out more of FABA ScrapDesign by reading our interview with her below.
Q: 01) What exactly is FabaScrap and how did you get to this name?
Elke: FABAScrapDesign is my designer name. I used to be called “Fabarina”. This name was put together using the names of my three children. However when our fourth child was born, I had to think of a new name und shortened it to FABA
Q: 02) When did you start designing?
Elke: I started designing in March of this year and try hard ever since to improve myself with each and every kit.
Q: 03) How would you describe your design style and what is your favorite?
Elke: Most of the time I work with realistic elements of photographs I have taken myself. I focus on soft and bright colors. I cannot say that I have a favorite style. I simply like all of my kits. They are all my babies - not perfect but made with love!
Q: 04) Can you describe your most fulfilling experience as a designer?
Elke: The most fulfilling experience was definitely the opening of our shop. Together with some other designers from our scrap-forum we opened our own shop called “Angel-Scrap-Shop”. I take care of this shop and all my heart is inside there. And of course the request from Alice Koh from TheDailyScrapper to participate in TDS Studio.
Q: 05) Is designing your main occupation?
Elke: No, designing is not my main occupation. I would call it my biggest hobby. Most of my time, I take care of our four children and also the Angels-Scrap-Shop.
Q: 06) What was your inspiration for the TheDailyScrapper Kit “Beauty of Summer”?
Elke: Our beautiful garden inspired me. Most of the elements in the kit are photographed by myself. It sure looks funny walking around your own garden with your camera, trying to get the butterflies onto one shot. I tried to capture the beauty of summer with this kit and hope I managed to do that.
Q: Tell us a little about yourself and family.
Elke: My real name is Elke, I am 39 years and married for 11 years. I am a proud mom of four wonderful children named Florina (13), Aron (11), Fabian (8) and Beenet (2). We live in the state of Bavaria in Germany near the city of Regensburg.
