Digital Photo Extraction - you can do it too the easy way!
Who says digital photo extraction has to be difficult? For those who want to try their hands at it, you could do a simple photo extraction with your eraser tool by just erasing part of a hand, feet, object, something that is easy to do. It will make your layout composition just a little more 3D.
Kirstie Ibrahim has written a tutorial for PSE about extraction magic. Click to download the
PDF version.

Urban Retreat
Collaborative between Victoria Greenlees and Ann-Marie
Description:
I was looking for an opportunity to scrap a picture that had been taken of me in
Spain this January, and after getting together with Ann-Marie at Pickleberrypop to create the Urban Retreat
collaboration, I had finally found/created the perfect papers and embellishments!
I wanted to do something different, and had been attracted to the layouts that I had seen in different
galleries where they had used extraction techniques, to make it seem that a portion of the image was
coming out of the frame.
This picture lent itself perfectly to this, and I created the extraction in Photoshop CS2 using the pen tool to
carefully draw round my silhouette. I created a selection and duplicated it, then in the layers palette
dragged it above the frame layer so that the part of the picture I had selected overlapped the frame.
