An Everyday Slice of Summer
by Karen Maggie
Sometimes the most extraordinary layouts are created from the ordinary moments in life. That's why it's important to keep a camera close-at-hand in the living area of your home, instead of stored away out of reach. This month, try keeping your camera out, so you can catch those spontaneous, one-of-a-kind, yet everyday photos. Here are some layouts that caught my eye in the galleries lately. They stood out because they captured everyday moments, in a spectacular way.

Description:
The photo was taken right after we checked into the hotel our first night in Hawaii. The hammock was on a lovely lawn overlooking a rocky beach and it was just before sunset. Pure bliss! Normally I spend a lot of time on layouts, but this one came about so easily. Shabby Miss Jenn's Summer Posies just exudes that warm relaxed feel of summer that I felt playing in the hammock with my daughters. |
Layout Title: Hot Days of Summer
Designed by: Diane Zablotsky (DeeZee)

Font is by Darcy Baldwin
Description:
This photo was taken in 1994 when my daughter and I were living in the house I grew up in while my husband was away for military training. I grew up in a very small town, and we spent that summer playing in just the way that I had played in that very same yard as a child. We didn't have a lot of money, so a hose and a small pool, or even just a piece of plastic for a homemade slip n' slide, were enough to keep us occupied all week during the long hot summer.
