White Space Layouts
by Karen Maggie
Sometimes less is more, and that's especially true on a scrapbook layout. White Space (also called negative space or empty space) is the portion of a design that is left blank or empty. Using space effectively gives the eye a 'rest' and draws the focus to the important parts of the page. This is why layouts with lots of empty space can be so effective.
Here are some excerpts from Wikopedia about using White Space:
"White space should not be considered merely 'blank' space - it is an important element of design which enables the objects in it to exist at all, the balance between positive (or none-white) and the use of negative spaces is key to aesthetic composition."
"Judicious use of white space can give a page a classic, elegant, or rich appearance. For example, upscale brands often use ad layouts with little text and a lot of white space. Inexpert use of white space can make a page appear incomplete"
White space layouts have become very popular lately. In fact, we had so many submissions to this call, it was very hard to select just FOUR layouts!

Description:
The purpose of this LO was to capture just an everyday moment in our household. So I took a pic of my two boys doing what they love to do: play cars in the garage. It's not something they do all the time, but it's something they ask to do everyday for whatever reason, lol! They think playing cars in the garage is soooo fun!
